Our latest 'Matured to be Enjoyed Responsibly' report demonstrates how producers are working to ensure responsible enjoyment remains at the heart of our industry.
From grain to glass, Scotch Whisky relies on high-quality cereals supplied by dedicated growers across Scotland. This is the foundation of the strong ties between Scotch Whisky and Scottish agriculture.
Last week, our team joined supply chain partners @NFUStweets at Girvan Distillery to discuss how we can work together to support the future success of our industries.

See that red line? That's the UK - more specifically that is the increase in UK spirits duty over the last three years, compared to other European countries
It has increased by 17% since 2023, or faster than all but 6 European countries and double the average across the EU
@hmtreasury should #SupportScotch and ensure that line moves no further

Welcoming the Welsh Government’s manifesto commitment to a pragmatic, workable approach to a Deposit Return Scheme 🤝
Recognising the practical challenges around including glass from the outset, while supporting a UK-wide scheme for plastic and metal drinks containers initially, is an important step towards protecting smooth trading across all four nations.
Collaboration across industry and government is key.

After being re-elected as the MSP for North East Fife I was straight back to work, making visits across the constituency the day after the results were declared. Thank you again to everyone for your support and for allowing me to continue my work representing this fantastic area.
With Gordon Brown appointed as an advisor to the PM, a reminder that as Chancellor he froze spirits duty for 11 years in a row, catalysing revenue growth of over £800m
Perhaps something for @hmtreasury to think about given the 17% rise over the last 3 years has led to revenue falling by almost £100m...
