In the first year of my dating my ex, a woman I did not know at all reached out to warn me my ex was a pathological liar. I laughed it off because I heard a different version of the story of their interactions from him. She did not stand to gain anything, she just reached out to warn me. If I had believed her I could have saved myself half a decade of trauma. Tldr: a random woman reached out to me to warn me my ex was a pathological liar, I didn't believe her, she was right.
