Many women are imprisoned for being homeless, not having money to pay their bills and not having access to adequate mental health care & substance misuse support. This is why we must invest in community support services like women's centres, not prisons.

Introducing longer sentences is never going to be the answer to ensuring people are reformed on release, it’s the rehabilitation work that happens whilst they are inside that is important, so money should be spent on rehabilitation instead.
