Nash is right that WWE stars should unionize. My team led the campaign that unionized minor league baseball and we’ve helped other early-stage sports unions since. Collective action always starts with one person. Any wrestlers interested in organizing should reach out.

Wrestlers in these organizations have legitimate arguments for employee status, which if found, would allow them to unionize under the NLRB. Unfortunately, many fear retaliation for supporting unionization. A truly collective approach, however, can serve to diminish such fear.

Nash is right - WWE wrestlers participate in highly-rated scripted programming every week. They should be SAG-AFTRA members already.

The league minimum for NBA players is over $1 million. In MLB it’s over $700k

If “making it” means getting to the NBA, the league minimum salary for a rookie on a full-season contract is $1,272,870 (almost $4 million annually min for 10-year vets). The UFC equivalent would be, at most, $24k per fight with two to three fights annually being common.

Before Spirit Airlines collapsed, I called on President Trump to make a deal to save it. Now that he didn't, and more than 4,000 Florida jobs have disappeared overnight, I'm urging the following actions to ensure the employees harmed by Spirit's closure are taken care of: 🧵

Spiking fuel prices from Trump’s war was the nail in the coffin for twice-bankrupted Spirit airline. FWIW, JetBlue merger failed because a judge, appointed by Ronald Reagan, said the deal was illegal. Republicans are desperate to shift blame from higher costs hitting families.

The only honest discussion of Ali "Revival" Act. A multibillion $$$ company wants to monopolize boxing. This proposed law will help them do that. In the process it throws out federal economic protections for boxers.

Only after getting improvements and protections in black and white, our union cheered the JetBlue/Spirit merger because the airlines knew they had to work with labor under the previous administration. It would have improved competition, increased safety, benefitted consumers, and allowed labor to negotiate to the highest standards. We also knew it would only consolidate power among the largest airlines if it didn’t succeed. We weren’t wrong. Now, thousands of Flight Attendants and other frontline workers have their lives, paychecks, healthcare, homes, and retirement hanging in the balance. Let’s remember real people are hoping and praying for a lifeline. And no doubt they deserve it! But if nothing else, they especially deserve consideration and kindness.
