Research group of Clare Lloyd based within @ImperialCollege's @ImperialNHLI. Interested in airway inflammation and remodelling. Tweets by various lab members.
🎉🌍 Happy New Year to all our friends and colleagues around the world! Here's to a year filled with exciting discoveries, achievements, and breakthroughs. Let’s make 2025 unforgettable! ✨🔬 #HappyNewYear
👀Check out this @globalimmuno talk by Clare!
"Immune-stromal cell interactions regulate pulmonary immunity" 🫁
Clare will be answering your questions in the comment section.

🚨 Check out our latest work with @RegisJoulia , published in @NatImmunol.
We use spatial transcriptomics to identify distinct and spatially-restricted proinflammatory cellular "ecosystems" in asthma.
We also explore airway remodelling and impact of therapeutic intervention💊

Today, in honour of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, our Cardiac Function section hosted a gathering for NHLI's staff and students to connect and celebrate together! 👩🔬✨

#MeetTheTeam: Minerva Garcia Martin (@a_minervagm21) 🇪🇸💫
Minerva is a second 🥈 year PhD student and Research Assistant in the Lloyd team.
We first crossed paths with Minerva during her MSc Immunology research project in the @HarkerImmuno lab.
👀 Keep reading below...
🔎 Minerva's project focuses on developing a novel 3D airway 🫁 cell culture model to investigate the interactions between epithelial cells, fibroblasts and immune cells.
Beyond the science, Minerva makes a killer tortilla 👩🍳 . Minerva is also a dab hand at embroidery 🧵🪡, a skill that has been very useful throughout our craft-based public engagement project (more details soon!).
#MeetTheTeam: April Raftery (@april_raftery) 🇦🇺✨
April is one of the newest members of our team, joining the Lloyd team as a postdoc from @MonashImmunol following the completion of her PhD!
More below...
🔎April's research seeks to investigate the immune-neuro-stromal communications in asthma with a specific focus on type 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s), fibroblasts, and extracellular matrix (ECM) 👩🔬.
🚨 Over the next few weeks, we are going to spend some time introducing and showing appreciation to some of the wonderful members of the Lloyd team🌟.
Keep your 👀 peeled to find out more about who we are 🕵️♂️ and what we do!
Delighted to share our latest insights in collaboration with @lloyd_lab, now in @JExpMed. We discussed recent findings on the role of basophils in allergic asthma, led by M. Schuijs and @bart_lambrecht
Looking forward to seeing where this research leads!

Postdoc Appreciation Week (#NPAW2024) Wednesday
🌟Balazs Bohar
Balazs is a great computational biologist, recently finished his PhD in our group and then became our joint postdoc with @NickPowellLab & @lloyd_lab focusing on transcriptomics, big data and gene regulation analysis.
