I over committed. 😆 I got all these new releases from the library before my kids brought from school and now I need to return them but I haven't read them yet- and they are due. So I brought them to the park to read while my kids play.
Not that anyone was worried, but my kids are ages 8, 10, 14 (left the 16-year-old at home). They prefer I sit off to the side while they play with their friends. 😆
🔎 I am CERTAIN this pertains to my publishing goals. Agents & Editors... here I come. 🔎 I got a REAL good feeling about my newest PB ms that I'm about to query. #amwriting#fortunecookie
I solemnly swear I’m using my yummy brain to bring a zombie manuscript back to life. #KidLitZombieWeek
It's great to feel like this manuscript has a chance again.
Advice from me as a literary agent who’s also a writer:
If your CP or agent or editor is telling you to remove things from your own writing (that you know you wrote) because it sounds like AI, you might politely tell them to go pound sand.
AI is trained to sound like us, and it’s only getting better at it. But you are the only one with your voice. Treasure it. Keep it sacred (with all the em dashes and metaphors), no matter what anyone tells you to do.
Today's the day.
The dedication says it's for my boys.
But it's also for every single one of us who's ever been challenged by our identity and dream of the future. 💜👇
Wow! I'm through my initial voting round for 775 #PBParty writer entries—it's a true honor and joy to peruse your caringly crafted excerpts plus fulls too! I'm going to revisit *many* I marked M!, and the 100 auth/illus submissions also. Good luck all, thank you for entering! 💫
SUBMITTED! I've been obsessively working on this ms for about two months. It's unlike anything I've ever written. 🤞🏼 🍀 Thanks to @MindyAlyseWeiss and good luck to all #pbparty contestants
My highschool son: "Mom the last time Friday the 13th happened in the month of March was the last day of school for the year because covid started."
Wow, six years ago today we had no idea what was in store! #FridayThe13th
Does this happen at elementary schools in your area?
At the beginning of the school year, a teacher will send home a brown paper bag and the child will put three things in the bag that represent them to share with the classes as a 'get to know you' activity.
Food for thought:
Are you enjoying the chase or are you just obsessed with a romanticized result?
If you’re fixated on the outcome but miserable in the process… what are you really doing?
Ask yourself: if I never get the desired result, is the chase enough to make me happy.
