Everyone who has a pond knows that putting new tap water in, is instant algae 🤣

You can see clearly in this slow motion vid I made a long while ago why cold pulls are not necessary or even useful in a filament change setting. The situation is - really interesting - self solving through laminar displacement/shear stress. Science! Vid is TPU-> PETG

This is, also, btw, the same reason poops on single nozzle printers have to be so...voluminous. It clears out in a long "V" shape.

I feel like obsessing over cold pulls and showing everyone is the 3d printing version of colonic irrigation 🤣 Does the so called carbon build up actually affect heat transfer over the very-long-term? Hmmm 🤔

Also if you are going to try to do a "cold pull" Don't use TPU to do it. not unless you want to buy a new nozzle.

I would say it can't hurt to do a cold pull between filaments, but really it can. You can damage parts, wear stuff prematurely, even burn yourself, and overall it's adding a whole layer of intense hassle where one is not necessary. Weird. Very weird.

Me repeatedly swapping between PA11-CF and TPU-GF on the snapmaker U1, wondering what the hell you need to cold pull like it's 2017 for.
Number of times I've hit "start print", walked away, and come back hours later to no print and a "dONt FoRgEt To Do A cOlD pUlL bEfOrE a TpU pRiNt" pop up instead: 7 Do we really need THREE alerts every time we print TPU? Please add "don't show again" option. Thanks.

On the same nozzle, I might add. Cold pull is something I do as last resort when I've got bum hairs stuck in the nozzle or something. It's not a part of filament change 🤣

Do what before printing tpu? 🤔 And people say these are the best printers. Weird.

We should sue him for collective brain damage from having to listen to this crap.

Okay so I can report that the @Creality3dP scan otter is the real deal. Black, shiny, no market dots, no spray.
