I saw lots of talks at ismir2024 about making creative things easily with machines for anyone, which I think is really cool. But I think one implicit assumption that anyone can be creative without putting serious thought and effort into cultivating the taste is somehow flawed.

A recent paper w @SashaMTL, @GaelVaroquaux, me made this arg contra bigger=better AI paradigm. We got a lot of pushback from the AI community in reviews.
Interesting to see the cautions we issued hit the AI economy so quickly, in spite of resistance.

JEU. Sachant que pour le nouveau Dictionnaire de l’Académie, un «mail» c’est un «petit marteau», ou une «promenade plantée d’arbres» (et pas du tout un courriel, eh oui, c’est ça de faire un dictionnaire tous les cent ans 🙄) à votre avis qu’est-ce qui est « stylé » pour eux??
