"Pleased to welcome the Defence Secretary"
Oh, I'm sure you are. The Chief of the Defence Staff, who should be planning for actual wars, gets to smile while another Labour politician whose entire understanding of warfare comes from The Guardian comment section takes the reins. This is the party that spent years calling the military "imperialist," campaigning against Trident, and decrying Western civilization at every opportunity. Now they've got their hands on the MOD. What could possibly go wrong?
The DEI Death Spiral
You want to know who's responsible for our bloated, bureaucratic armed forces? Look no further. While China builds hypersonic missiles and Russia actually uses their military, Britain's forces are being lectured on pronouns and "unconscious bias." Recruitment in the toilet? Lower the fitness standards. Can't meet physical requirements? Here's a diversity quota instead. The enemy won't know what hit them, probably because they'll be too busy filing discrimination complaints.
Labour "Defence": An Oxymoron
This is the party that cut the Army to its smallest size since Napoleon. The party that treats the defence budget like a piggy bank for welfare experiments. The party that thinks the military's purpose isn't killing enemies and breaking their things. Oh no, that's too aggressive. The purpose, apparently, is serving as a taxpayer-funded social engineering laboratory where the only battles fought are against misgendering and the only campaigns run are Pride marches in camouflage.
They love the photo ops of noble working-class lads in uniform. The actual messy, violent reality of war? Embarrassing. Something to apologise for at international conferences.
Welcome to the Ministry of Inclusion, Secretary Jarvis.
I'm sure the Russians and Chinese are terrified. Not by our capabilities, those are being hollowed out, but by the sheer moral force of our inclusive procurement policies. Nothing says "credible deterrent" like a battleship painted in rainbow colours with a mission statement about intersectionality.
The comments know the score: "Give him a week." The only question is whether he resigns in scandal first, or stays long enough to replace the Royal Marines with a gender-balanced panel of conflict resolution speciali
Pleased to welcome the Defence Secretary
@DanJarvisMBE to the MOD this morning.
I look forward to working closely with him, continuing the unceasing work of supporting our Armed Forces and keeping our country safe.
