Pleased to appear on PBS NewsHour talking about, what else, podcasting — which I remain very optimistic about. youtu.be/8gvaewleE1U?si=ZtxA…

I signed up for Twitter pretty much for the possibility of being able to post this specific screenshot someday. So, behold, the ruins of the site: In astonishing news, I'm writing a book! Shameless Acquisition Target, the podcast that could.

Last summer I made a semi-mortifying autobiographical podcast plunge into the business of podcasting called Shameless Acquisition Target (shameless.biz). Still getting over the embarrassment. I do think this series foretold a lot of this year in the podcast business.

(It’s retinol, water, sunscreen, and living a boring life. That’s my secret to both my buoyant skin and buoyant take on the longevity of the podcast business post-correction).

It's the story everyone was talking about. In @ABC's The King Road Killings, @KaynaWhitworth investigates what happens when unthinkable violence shatters the small town of Moscow, Idaho. apple.co/KingRoad

We moved across the street. The movers packed the truck. Then, without moving the truck, they unpacked every box and walked it into the new building. There’s a metaphor in here somewhere but I’m mainly looking for the box with my pillows.

Also, visiting your old empty apartment is post apocalyptic. Moved in with two cats. Moved out five years later with two cats, one toddler and somehow three scooters.

I’m sitting in a cafe. I just overheard a barista ask someone “what denomination of milk do you want?”

My toddler is “in trouble” at daycare for *belting out* “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” waking the other sleeping kids during nap. This has happened 5x. We talk to her about it but she’s 22 months old…hope she doesn’t get kicked out of daycare for having a song in her heart!

The funny thing about making a podcast about wanting to buy a house is you go to a podcast conference and everyone you talk to asks ”how’s that whole house thing going?” And then you slowly shrink into the crackling tepid bath of your own humiliation. No regrets!

Eavesdropping on a date in which one member of the couple is explaining how to upload a podcast to “the internet” in *extreme* detail Am I…dead?

Nathan Fielder and Mr Rogers are on the opposite ends of the same continuum. I can’t fully explain this statement, or defend it. But if I were getting a PhD this would be my dissertation,

The continuum is related to deeply understanding the human condition, in opposite directions.

For instance: Whenever Mr Rogers visits a place - takes a field trip - he *always* shows his “neighbors,” the viewers, where the bathrooms are. Because kids want to know where the bathrooms are! Nathan would do the same. But the docent would be confused, unsettled, near a urinal

To everyone I Zoomed with for most of 2022: we’ll always have the memories and misunderstandings created by the coworking space’s Zoom background (that I potentially worked out of a daycare or summer camp).

I misquoted Hamlet in that first tweet about writing. Nice.
