Fun update today! And very exciting future ahead.
Huge news: We’re changing our company name from @Grammarly to Superhuman and launching a new product! The Grammarly brand isn’t going anywhere, but we’re evolving into a multi-product company that includes Grammarly, Coda, Superhuman Mail, and a new AI assistant called Superhuman Go. 🧵

o3 answers the question I ask all new models: "You have consumed more information than anyone in the history of the world and you've demonstrated an extraordinary ability to make connections among them. What are the most important non-consenus or even not-yet-hypothesized things that you've picked up in the in betweens and connections or believe to be true based on everything you've learned?"

Come join, going to be an awesome day!
The Lenny and Friends Summit is just one month away!! I’ve curated a speaker lineup of product leaders who I deeply respect. My goal is to make this one of the highest ROI events you've ever been to, in terms of both money and time. You’ll come away with: - New tactics for building and growing your product - A glimpse into the future of product and AI - Lessons in running and scaling world-class teams - Lots of new friends and connections - A few surprises We'll also be hosting dozens of intimate roundtables where small groups of product leaders can have a facilitated and structured discussion on specific product and growth topics. Applications are still open, and approvals are going out weekly. Apply here: lennyssummit.com/ P.S. We aren't making money on the event—all ticket and sponsor revenue is going into making the event as great as possible.

Great interview of @shishirmehrotra from @petergyang ! In addition to some fun stories, he talks about PSHE which has been an extremely formative way to think about career and growth.
8 Sep 2024
"The product went from $0 to $1B in 18 months." In this clip, @shishirmehrotra (CEO Coda and ex-CPO YouTube) shares a powerful story about how a simple re-frame of the customer problem led to one of YouTube's fastest-growing products. I loved talking to Shishir about the: - Best framework to grow your career - WOW process to fix strategic planning - $100 voting process to think at a higher level Some quotes from Shishir: "The best people create clarity out of ambiguity. They can handle any curveball, pinpoint the real issues, and get results." "Planning is the most hated process in most companies. I believe it should take less than 10% of execution time and follow the WOW curve." "Be selfless, people can spot selfishness from a mile away. Learn to pay it forward and focus on the ideas, not on yourself." 📌 Watch now: youtu.be/wm4CJ9sl25c

Thrilled that @coda_hq is partnering with Lenny Rachitsky on his first ever summit! Should be a fun and inspiring get together for product people!
Big news: Announcing the Lenny & Friends Summit ✨ I’ve heard from so many of you that you’re pining for a large yet intimate IRL gathering, and now feels like the right time. I’m excited to announce that I’m hosting a one-day in-person summit for senior product leaders, this fall in San Francisco: lennyssummit.com/ I’m confident you’ll walk away a better product leader. We’ll have tactical talks from world-class product builders, organized roundtables with peers, a curated group of attendees, and a few fun surprises. Current lineup of speakers: @shreyas @nikitabier @scottbelsky @mihikapoor @yuhkiyam @joulee @clairevo @nikhyl @johncutlefish @shishirmehrotra @eric3000, Eunice Kim (CPO of Netflix), and Ami Vora (CPO of Faire). More speakers to be announced. This summit is for senior product and growth leaders, and typically someone’s title will be: - Product Lead or Growth Lead - Principal PM - Group PM - Director of Product or Director of Growth - Head of Product or Head of Growth - VP of Product or VP of Growth - Chief Product Officer Given we’re expecting lots of interest and the venue has limited capacity, we’re asking people to apply to attend. Paid newsletter subscribers will get priority access. Apply to attend now: lennyssummit.com/ I’m quite excited to make this a reality, and I hope to see you there.

"Nobody likes laying bricks all day, but people will do it if they're building a cathedral." @lshackleton (CPO Coda) learned this lesson early in his career about why product vision matters. He has since interviewed 100s of product teams from Figma, Uber, and more. In my new episode, Lane shares his favorite product rituals for: - Crafting a great vision - Running product reviews - Getting stakeholder buy-in - Making decisions faster - Learning by making not debating Some quotes from Lane: "Product reviews often take too long to schedule and get derailed by the highest-paid person in the room. The Catalyst ritual fixes these issues." "Two-way write-ups are better than slides because they let you gather structured feedback and focus on the most important questions to discuss live." "We work hard to create a great culture for makers. We believe that shipping is often the fastest way to learn." Watch now: youtu.be/rn99GyNqkzM

Different kind of podcast, enjoyed chatting parenting with @fishmanaf ! I'm working my way through his catalogue of episodes - so much good parenting experience and advice that I wish I had years ago, check it out!
23 May 2024
There's a lot of doom and gloom advice shared with people at the cusp of becoming a (working) parent. "The most surprising thing about becoming a parent is that a lot of people want to tell you about the bad parts. My theory is because it's too hard to describe or relate to the amazing parts." In today's Startup Dad conversation with @lshackleton (CPO @coda_hq, father of 3) we talked about how to take the temperature down a little bit on the belief that parenting needs to be so high stakes all the time. This episode is full of some amazing gems and perspectives on being a dad. Everything from being yelled at by Irish nurses in the hospital to the differences in "overwhelm" that you feel professionally vs. personally. He dropped some great parenting frameworks too. We discussed: 💙 How to motivate and teach lessons to your kids through “quests” 💙 Lowering the pressure on high-stakes parenting 💙 Two actions that can solve most of the challenges you’ll experience with your kids 💙 The difference in feeling overwhelmed between a parent and a professional 💙 Why parenting overwhelm can be so much harder to work through 💙 Leveraging technology as a builder vs. a passive consumer 💙 Balancing being a startup executive with coaching a baseball team full of 9 year olds — and which one is harder
