Just got word my entry qualified for the competition! I appreciate the Megaman Dual Override dev team for considering it! If you want to support Cactus Man (Design Q), throw it a vote! There's a lot of good entries though, so pick what feels right! #ロックマンDO #MegaManDO

In today's #ReviewsSundays, @heyphilsummers & @NintendoForce bring us this hand-drawn detailed guide for Mega Man (1987) and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge (1991). In around twenty chapters, there's a brief retrospective on the release of each game, an overview of each version released, and an in-depth look at the lore through excerpts from Dr. Light's diary, descriptions of characters and enemies, as well as each object. Through the author's reinterpretations (with Capcom's approval), we're presented with a global map showing all the sections of the game, as well as individual maps for each screen, reimagining the playable limits as never before. As if that weren't enough, they're accompanied by immersive illustrations of both iconic moments and boss battles. Of course, the volume is the best ally for progressing through these challenging games, compiling the best tips and strategies (as well as the ideal order of progression).

Nintendo bringing Virtual Boy games to Nintendo Switch (with a dedicated accessory!) feels like a salute to gaming’s greatest inventor, Gunpei Yokoi I've been fascinated by stories about Yokoi my entire life, so allow me to ramble about my nerdy interests for a minute so you can be excited too: Gunpei Yokoi was the one to align Nintendo on the path of entertainment when engineering their first hit toy, Ultra Hand, in 1966. He would then go on to create the first handheld electronic games (Game & Watch, Game Boy...) It's safe to say his innovations shaped the identity not just of Nintendo, but gaming itself. The thing is, being "ahead of your time" means people don’t always recognize your unapologetically imaginative genius in the moment. Yokoi lived that reality during his lifetime. That’s why times like this matter so much; where we can step back into the playground of his imagination once more, and experience the future as he foresaw it. Virtual Boy wasn’t Yokoi’s most popular invention, but it might have been his boldest dream. Now, 30 years later, we can celebrate it for what it was: pure imagination, ahead of its time.

Satoru Iwata reflected on technology leaving people “alone together”—side-by-side, yet isolated His answer: dokusou (独創), creating something unique. Especially that which brings joy connection 10 years after his passing, I think he’d be proud how Nintendo brings us together
