After almost 12 years, it's time to start our goodbyes to one of the greatest games ever made. Fair warning, I may get emotional during this stream. A man walks into a bar and sees a sign that says "Free Beer for Life if you can pass our three tests." The man approaches the bartender and asks "Okay, what about these tests?" The bartender replies "The first is you have to chug a gallon of pepper vodka. The second is you have to pull a sore tooth from an alligators mouth out back. The third is there's a woman upstairs who's never been with a man, you've gotta bed her down." The man laughed and said "No way" and leaves. Several hours later, the man stumbles back in after drinking with his friends and declares he's ready for the tests. The bartender pulls out a jug of pepper vodka. Before he can even get the cork out, the man grabs it, rips out the stopper and proceeds to down the entire jug without stopping. Baffled, the bartender then points out the back door and tells the man the gator is out back. The man stumbled out and shortly thereafter, screaming was heard coming from behind the bar. Some time later, the man walked back in, his shirt torn and bleeding profusely. He looked at the bartender and said "Okay, now where's that woman with the sore tooth?"

My pitch for Destiny 3: The Nine that remain all inhabit different planets, and all name an avatar to empower (like we saw with Dredgen Bael) in order to protect themselves. Imagine a Taken with the power to take others just by proximity like a horrific plague, a Vex who is able to wield time in order to bring back old enemies like Ghaul or even old friends like Cayde, newly empowered and corrupted to fight for them and them alone. Different factions and races flock to each planet to join their respective groups. Some for protection, some for prestige, some for power. Even some humans leave Earth, as it becomes the centerpoint of conflict, due to the prophecy and the existence of Lodi. We reconnect with the Earth factions like Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and the remains of Future War Cult. Some are friendly and wish to help us, some are more antagonistic and supply aid to the enemy after feeling like they were forced out of the tower. As we extend farther and farther out into the Sol system, we must create footholds on each planet; bases to occupy as we fight against the growing threat. As we defeat enemies and complete missions on each planet, we unlock more things for our base, from cosmetic touches to the ability to increase our own vault space across different worlds, etc. As far as abilities/build crafting, we begin to learn new abilities like we always have, but also through a new system I call "The Osmosis System" (still early on the name). Say you're fighting a Psion on Venus and he picks up something to throw at you using his psionic abilities. If he hits you with it and you survive, you start learning how to do that yourself. Eventually, you unlock that ability for yourself, and using it more and more will also strengthen the ability over time. I'd also bring back cosmetics as a rare drop (like back in D1, where things like Psion robes for hunters, Shield Brothers gauntlets for Titans, etc could be random drops) as a way to improve the overall ability to personalize your Guardian and improve the grind a bit. I also have ideas I've written up for how to introduce UGC and past strikes/raids from all the way back in D1 to today without breaking the story/timeline.
