I doubt this will happen, but RFK Jr. polls far higher with Republicans than Democrats. If he runs as a third party candidate, he could be a genuine boon to Biden.

Scott Brown asks RFK Jr. if he will run as an independent, if the DNC jams him. “If they jam me, I’m going to look at every option.”

My pilates class last night was busier than normal. I quietly asked to be at the back "because I'm farty" (losing a bit of my rectum hasn't helped). A woman in the class looked so disgusted and repeated "farty?" very loudly. Took great pleasure in responding, "Yes, bowel cancer"

Really? For me the most disturbing image was the husband and wife who died of refractory hypoxemia in the same ICU on the same day but to each their own I guess

I guess they’re going to remove the Bible from libraries now. Right?

Administrators asked ChatGPT the specific language of Iowa’s new law, “Does [book] contain a description or depiction of a sex act?” If ChatGPT said yes, the book was removed from the library. popsci.com/technology/iowa-c…

Ron DeSantis’ administration has approved “Prager University” videos to teach kids about slavery. Prager U is a fake, unaccredited far-right organization. One of their “kids videos” has Christopher Columbus telling them that slavery was “no big deal.” wesh.com/article/prageru-flo…

I’ve never once heard anyone reference Westlake as a “main artery in downtown Seattle.” Not once. Nobody uses westlake like that. It’s just not practical unless you’re a streetcar. This is entirely silly behavior, Amazon.

In 37 years as a faculty member, I have never seen anything like this video. It's the faculty senate at Texas A&M meeting with the university's president, Katherine Banks, the day before she resigned. The reason she resigned is clear from the clip. youtube.com/watch?v=bCXxE8YB… 1/

Writing something meaningful in English without any loans from Old French may seem strikingly hard at first blush, but it can indeed be done. I'm doing it right now, and not even dumbing anything down to do so. (And no, believe it or not, "French" is not a loan from French.) You've got to think through it carefully, though. It's kind of like driving a pickup backward. Keeping your eyes behind you with one hand on the wheel will tire you out after a while. On the other hand, it would be a good deal harder to do this in a way that skirts all loans, even the word-stock taken from Norse. Like, that would mean having to do without the word "loan".

The current head of the union is Fran Drescher. The last time both actors and writers went on strike, the head of the union was Ronald Reagan. If history repeats itself, we will soon have President Fran Drescher.

This is the first time in 60 years that both actors and writers have gone on strike at the same time. Entertainment folks, post your most absurd royalty check below so people can understand just how badly you’re getting screwed!
