Iarradh orm cúpla focal a rá faoi #JulianBenson @judgejulesoffic i gcuimhne air in uair a bháis, ar @Adhmhaidin inné. Ní raibh na focail chearta agam le cur síos cuí a dhéanamh air. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. @RTERnaG rte.ie/radio/rnag/clips/2250… #rip

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our wonderful friend Julian Benson. Our very own Captain Sparkle who brought so much joy, brilliance & talent to the world. One of a kind, he will be forever missed. The world lost a bit of sparkle today✨ May he rest in peace.

Trinity historians are asking the public to help document Dublin’s old bilingual street signs. The green and white signs feature the old Irish font Cló Gaelach and are fast disappearing from the Capital's streets. Read more here: tcd.ie/news_events/articles/…

Dear @googlemaps In Ireland, why do you not give first preference to placenames in Gaeltacht (Irish-language) regions in their legally recognised language (Irish)? I refuse to accept the anglicised forms of the placenames that you use.

More traction that expected! Dóibh siúd a dúirt cén fáth nach raibh seo scríte i nGaeilge agam, seo daoibh. For those others saying noone would understand the Irish names: is as an nGaeltacht dom. I'm from the Gaeltacht, and the anglicised spellings are not in common use there.

Most of the comments arent actually engaging with my point: if you're in Corca Dhuibhne for ex 'Baile na bhFionnúrach' is an historic townland. The signs in the area read this. The people call it this. Yet on G. Maps "Ballynavenooragh", ignoring the lived reality of the Gaeltacht

The first exhibition in the Irish language ever held at the Public Records Office of NI has opened. It tells the story of women who revived the use of the Irish language in Northern Ireland, setting up and running things like the first Irish-medium schools and nurseries.
