The Palestinian villagers of Susiya have been told by settlers to vacate within 24 hours or be killed. I spent time in Susiya in 2016 and wrote about its history here. I beg our governments to find their moral courage and not be party to war crimes. granta.com/the-land-in-winte…
Replying to @Mivasair
The situation is so dire that ten villages have been compelled to forsake their ancestral lands and flee in abject fear. Susyiah village now stands as the next target. We urgently beseech you to intervene without delay and bring this horrific nightmare to a halt. 4/

Dear friends of Refaat Alareer around the world, I want to share with you that after a long and painful search we have finally found Dr. Refaat Alareer’s body, which had been buried in a makeshift cemetery. Today, we moved him, along with his brother Salah, his sister Asma and other 4 of his relatives, to Ibn Marwan Cemetery near Al-Shujaiya, the neighborhood where he was born, lived, and now rests eternally. Please keep him in your prayers, and may his family and friends find strength and peace.

The words "ethnic cleansing", "international law," and "war crimes" are oddly missing in this article which is about all three.

(Photos of after and before) I have no more words to say. The is what remained of the Edward Said Public Library in North Gaza. Photos were taken today. This is what I worked in the past seven years to build for my people with the help of friends in Gaza and outside. I waited for 8 weeks for each box of books to arrive in Gaza and place on the shelves. I’m still waiting for pictures of the destruction of the second branch of the library in Gaza City.

Ever since the ceasefire started on Sunday, this government, through the IDF and its allies in the settlements, has been doing everything in its power to make sure Israel doesn’t reach the 2nd phase of the deal. Suddenly, Trump says he’s “not confident” the ceasefire will hold 🧵

On that night, after 471 days of living among the rubble of memories and wounds, time passes in an unfamiliar slowness. For the first time since those stormy days, I lay my head on the pillow without the accompanying feeling of terror that the place might be bombed in the blink of an eye. For the first time since those dark periods, I feel silence surrounding me, but this silence is not peace; it is a void that reflects the absence of souls whose laughter and sighs I once heard before death took them away. I had gotten used to sleeping with the hope that I would wake up the next day to the face of a lost loved one, that life would go on despite the destruction. But now, with the first moment of sleep that greets me without fear, I cannot stop the tears falling on my pillow, as if they are remembering friends and loved ones I lost over those days, as if they are comforting my soul that bears deep wounds that can never heal. How cruel it is to find yourself in a safe place and still fear waking up to another nightmare.

Ben-Gvir’s claim that he previously prevented today’s hostage deal (for months) shows that Netanyahu & his govt chose to prolong the war in Gaza while hostages died & Israel annihilated tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians. Shame on all those who’ve supported this horror.

15 months of foreign journalists being denied unfettered access to Gaza - while those inside showed us just how to report under one of the world’s most violent sieges and in the most horrifying conditions. Bravo Palestinian journalists
Western journalists will soon flood into Gaza. Many will report the appalling conditions they find there as a revelation. Don’t be fooled. At Al Jazeera we have been laying bare the full horror all along. “Nobody can say they didn’t know.” youtube.com/watch?v=kPE6vbKi…

The 40 people who were killed after the ceasefire deal announcement yesterday afternoon managed to survive over the past 15 months, be it starvation, air strikes, illnesses, and the nonstop evacuation orders. Just in a click of a button, they were killed with their families. And yet sadly, more will be killed in Gaza today and will they never live to return to their bombed houses and feel that they made it.
