Dancer Wake is a track written by @thesoulsrilanka about colonisers who came to destroy their jungles. It captures the turmoil during the riots that erupted due to ethnic differences in Sri Lanka, while also trying to capture the beauty of the island.
On the special occasion of Sri Lankaâs Independence Day on Feb 4th, @maemariyam sits down with Sri Lankan reggae/dub/rock band, @thesoulsrilanka. They chat about the band's insistence on NOT being a cover band and making only original music (and being a broke musician in the process), the sad sad situation of Sri Lankaâs economy but also how itâs not sad and everything is perfectly fine (right?). When talking about their music it ranges from dystopian futures and reflections on political turmoil all the way to the woes of being a struggling independent artist. Oh and they teach Mae some Sinhalese too (whether it was successful or not youâll have to listen to the episode to find out).

A few days ago, I looked for Indians who are choosing to spend their lives with friends, breaking away from the tradition of ageing with a spouse. Those who came forward were single or divorced, and lucky to have a network of friends they could rely on: mid-day.com/sunday-mid-day/aâŚ
Used the SPARSH portal today to help retired defence officer their pension. What a poorly designed and unresponsive website. This canât be the way we treat national heroes. Shame on @TCS.
