R2D42 #100DaysOfCode#BuildInPublic
When I started learning how to code, I told myself that if I ever landed a role in tech that I would consider it a privilege to share my journey & what I've found helpful along the way. After all, I've been so encouraged by the stories of others who've made the career change!
Asking for a friend:
Does anyone know of an open source edtech project participating in Hacktoberfest? Or do you know of a good way to search for that type of project?
In case it's relevant, PERN (PostgreSQL, Express, React, and Node) is ideal.
We're throwing a week-long community event next week, live streaming with guests and bringing our community groups together to share tips and network!

Working more in the codebase at my job and I am loving it! Picking up all kinds of cool git and terminal tricks from pairing w/ other devs. Plus, I get to use Postman for work now!
Who knew I'd be getting all giddy about APIs & databases when I first started my coding journey π
I have experienced so many feelings of deep gratitude during my 1st week in my new role!!
The level of support I have received so far from my manager, my team and colleagues on other teams is on a level I could have never imagined!
So so GRATEFUL!
I truly appreciate the outpouring of well wishes I've received here & it's seriously amazing to feel this level of support carry over into my working environment.
I'm so ready to give back in any way I can because I know I could not have made this transition without COMMUNITY!
I've landed my first role in tech as a full-time software engineer internπ!
Completed my first day on the job today & I'm truly excited about the people I'm working with & the work I'll be doing!
Thank you Twitter friends for being so supportive in my journey so far! π
The free FullStack Open curriculum has been on my list to check out for a while, so it was nice to start the course today with some fellow devs @_YolandaHaynes@reginaromrob !

I'm doing a Open Source / @github walkthrough today for @VirtualCoffeeIO members at noon ET!
What's a @github feature you love or that you learned about recently that you think I should cover?
I always look forward to @benmvp 's informative threads!
This one is all about different ways to copy an array in JavaScript, including a look at some commonly used array methods. Great overview!
In JS we usually shallow clone an array so that we can mutate it w/o affecting the original. Wanna see 8οΈβ£ different ways to copy an array? Of course you do! π
1οΈβ£ for loop
Create a new empty array, manually loop over the source array, & push into that new array
