Finally after 3 days of chasing one edge case I got it all working. Using a sort of cellular automata to generate LODs to feed greedy voxel meshing. The results are pretty satisfying so I expect a huge performance gain and new gifs in 2020 :D #madewithunity#voxelart#gamedev
I've increased number of units again. I believe that without detailed physics and proper LODs, millions of units could be simulated in strategy games on current GPUs. They create nice visual patterns in battles based on units skills. #madewithunity#unity3d#voxelart
To avoid GPU debugging problems I'm now writing code that can be included both in CPU and OpenCl. It was much easier than anticipated, just a few c tricks and I can select each kernel to run on cpu or gpu. saved me a lot of time already😀
