The groundbreaking frontman of Sly and the Family Stone has passed away at 82, surrounded by loved ones, after a long battle with COPD — a chronic lung disease that makes it hard to breathe.

#WayneLewis, founding member and lead singer of #AtlanticStarr, has passed away at 68. 🕊️
The group announced the news, asking fans to keep his family in their prayers. We were lucky to see him at our Valentine’s Super Love Jam in 2023.
