I think Neo-Mormonism actually is a great term for it (although, to be fair, we are on the fourth or fifth iteration of Mormonism at this point, so it might be neo, neo, neo, neo, neo-Mormonism).
The question of the the nature of God has gone through several very distinct, and contradictory, phases:
1- Modalist Book of Mormon model
2 - Lectures on Faith model
3 - Book of Abraham plurality of Gods model
4 - Adam God
5 - Talmage Model (Widtsoe too)
6 - Talmage/Widtsoe Ostler (Notable that Ostler is the first non GA to advance a theology that may have purchase for them)
I donβt think the term Neo is appropriate but Ostlerβs Mormonism is trying to blend it insofar as it is able as part of the greater Christian tradition. In particular Eastern Orthodoxy.
