I've had a few Mormons in my replies point to corruption in the Catholic Hierarchy as a disproof of Catholicism. This is a particularly curious move from a tradition that abandoned polygamy when Congress threatened it, conveniently received new racial revelations when the IRS threatened its tax exempt status, and whose founder was tarred and feathered (and almost castrated) for allegedly propositioning a sixteen year old. The Church has sinners in it. It has always had sinners in it. That's rather the point. But more importantly- Catholicism does not rest its truth claims on the personal virtue of its bishops. When bishops sin against the faith they received, the Church absorbs it as it always has; when prophets capitulate to the government they claim to supersede, they confess that their "revelation" was theirs to revise all along.
