There are no words to describe the horrors that Sudanese women and girls are enduring at the hands of the RSF, and which have not received a fraction of the outrage, attention and action by World leaders that it deserves.
💢 Thousands Killed, Women Systematically Raped as RSF Seized Sudan’s El Fasher, Joint Investigation Finds
A joint investigation and documentary film by Sudan War Monitor, Lighthouse Reports, and Al Jazeera Fault Lines has reconstructed the fall of El Fasher — capital of North Darfur — documenting systematic massacres, mass rape, and the deliberate use of a trench encircling the city to trap and kill fleeing civilians during the Rapid Support Forces’ seizure of the city on October 26, 2025.
UN data indicates at least 6,000 people were killed in the first three days of the RSF’s entry into the city. RSF commanders and other sources cited in the investigation put the death toll above 10,000. One witness who helped collect bodies said he and others buried approximately 4,000 corpses — all in civilian clothing — including women found dead alongside infants believed to have died of thirst after their mothers were killed.
Survivors described checkpoints between El Fasher and the Qarni gate where RSF fighters looted, beat, and raped civilians attempting to flee. Women were held in detention facilities and subjected to sexual slavery. The investigation also documents RSF forces using schools as detention sites, where girls were taken one by one and raped.
RSF deputy commander Abdelrahim Hamdan Dagalo is identified by witnesses as having personally led fighters pursuing civilians through the trench.
