This Day in History: On December 19, 1715, over 300 years ago, South Carolina Rev. Gideon Johnston, of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, wrote a letter that pointed to the capture, sale and enslavement of as many as 1400 Native American people.
