A culture devoted to poetry reveals, perhaps, a revival of devotional poetry (but with some twists). @malodoherty takes stock of an interesting trend emerging in Northern Ireland.

This is very good from @malodoherty. Would another agreement have happened if there had been failure in 1998? Probably not immediately but I suspect that terrorism in the West became unthinkable after 11th September 2001.

30 yrs ago, I was on work experience with Talkback and Jim came in one day. He's the only bit I remember. He whipped out the typewriter and in seconds, composed a gem of a piece. Wow! I never met Jamshid, but mum talked fondly of him. I've still got the painting bought from him.

Let’s face it , few in authority really care or understand the impact of terrorism. We, that is , those who were impacted by it during “The Troubles” know all about it and we know how, as we get older the trauma and impact gets worse. However we needn’t look towards the courts , or even “legacy” or “the victims payment “ because we have to relive everything and then wait years (especially in the former) for any kind of decision. In the meantime, we see senior SF figures being awarded “compensation “ from the UK government in the 100’s of thousands. If we speak out publicly, we get abused to silence our voices. Victims organisations are trying to get a bereavement payment, for victims but why are government so quiet?

The thing Keir Starmer cannot say: "Of course I knew the man had sinister secret ties to Jeffrey Epstein. That's why I chose him. The job was to protect Britain from the madness of President Caligula. Epstein connections are a bona fide job qualification for that mission."
