In national interest, Assam has decided to ban issuance of Aadhar cards to all adults above 18 years so that no illegal can legitimise themselves. The ST and Tea Garden community will get an extension till 31 March 2027 to enrol themselves under Aadhar.

From August, existing Orunodoi beneficiaries will continue to receive uninterrupted support. Benefits will be credited to the same bank accounts as before. We remain steadfast in our commitment to the welfare of Assam's families.

Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of five brave Indian Air Force personnel in the AN-32 accident in Jorhat. Sqn Ldr Prashant Singh, Flt Lt Shubham Kumar, Sgt Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation. Despite having a vast and diverse population, we have been able to bring down our MMR and IMR rates drastically from the highs of 400s. Child marriage is also almost wiped out and TFR is also contained. All these have been achieved in the last 5-6 years on the health front.
