Bob Dole will lie in state in the Capitol’s rotunda on Thursday, returning to the building he revered as a congressman and senator for more than three decades for an honor accorded to only about 30 people before him. Follow along live: nytimes.com/live/2021/12/09/…

What a string of great stories @EllenBarryNYT produced for @NYTNational, as she has with every beat before. And what a critical topic for her to explore next.
We’re thrilled to announce that @EllenBarryNYT is joining the health and science desk as its mental health reporter. nytco.com/press/ellen-barry-…

Honored to make the press pass wall at the stunning new NYT Museum on our 15th floor with these great colleagues, past and present. That green pass got me into Sudan during the Darfur crisis.

All incoming -- and departing -- staffers should do this maneuver.
Today is my last day at @nytopinion. Getting hired was a dream, and I am forever grateful to @derekwillis, who sent my resume to @sewellchan, who passed me on to @nickkristof. And of course @gailcollins, whose editorial page leadership originally inspired me.
