Things are going to change around here, Percy! Our sweet girl, Margot Alexandria Trussler, was born happy and healthy at 6lb last week. Kelsey is doing great and we are looking forward to some time off to hang and enjoy our new expanded family.

Made a vote density map of PA3. I doubt many young white transplants have even heard of Overbrook or Cedarbrook let alone been there, yet they're a big % of voters.

Recall that Cherelle Parker led ONE of six polls from Mid-April 2023 through the primary and proceeded to win by a comfortable 10% margin. Parker was third in a late April poll and tied for second in an early May poll. Philly polling tends to miss working-class Black voters!

I’d be willing to bet that 10-15% of this decline is high schoolers lying less.
Huge collapse in drinking among high schoolers 👀

A lot of academics aren’t ready to hear this because it will hurt their precious little egos but: Your students are apathetic about learning because you don’t integrate waterslides and waterparks. They don’t care about learning because they aren’t cascading down wet wet chutes

We need a cart of locked-down essay-writing computers that you can wheel in for exams. This doesn't seem hard! My bigger vision: a SCIF for ongoing Internet-free writing with monitoring to ensure no devices are used. Universities should be doing more to innovate!
I have been experimenting with in-class essays but - hard to handle open-note policies when most students now take notes digitally - AI glasses/wearables are coming - some handwriting is truly illegible - short handwritten essays test different skills than long form essays

Why you should read any “shift” graph with extreme skepticism. Fairfax shifted “more democratic” in a percent sense, but democrats in Fairfax turned out at a significantly lower rate than Republicans statewide.
Turnout in the redistricting vote was down about 10.7% from what the 2025 gov race saw. Gold localities = smaller drop Purple localities = larger drop Basically, turnout was the strongest, relative to 2025, in dark gold localities.

I am a big fan of BYU’s phenomenal freshman Jane Hedengren who set a collegiate 5000 Outdoor record of 14:50.50 this week at Bryan Clay. Sharon Lokedi ran 14:48 from 35k-40k at the Boston Marathon yesterday. Let that sink in.

Your periodic reminder that slow running is totally appropriate as a part of your training program. Here's 2:02 marathoner John Korir's morning run today. 9:14 pace!

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

Some may be wondering why the US flew 2 x MC-130 into a landing zone in Iran rather than use other types available. The clue is in the use of the Night Stalker AH-6 Little Bird Helicopters, which were also destroyed at the forward landing site. 🧵1/8 twz.com/air/night-stalker-li…

One last look at Earth before we reach the Moon. This view of the Earth was captured on April 5, the fourth day of the Artemis II mission, from inside the Orion spacecraft. The four astronauts will reach their closest approach of the Moon tomorrow, April 6.
