Russia has come up with false information that I want to debunk: A few days ago the Russian Ministry of Defence released a table of foreigners in Ukraine killed by Russia. I can say with conviction that at least in relation to Romania and Moldova, the table is false. At the moment in Ukraine there are at most 50 Romanians enlisted in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and about as many Moldovans. Not all of them are in the front line. If I cannot say much about the losses among Moldovans, I can say, after talking to many Romanians, that only one Romanian died on the front: Rudolf Wittmann, may he rest in peace. A significant part of the Romanians are in the Romanian BattleGroup Getica, another significant part are in the various battalions of the ILDU (International Legion of Defence of Ukraine). Almost half of them I have the honour to know and with your help I can help them. So, the figures of 349 Romanian combatants (attention, it is important to underline this term, as we are talking about combatants) killed in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion out of a total of 784 (falsely claimed by russsian MoD) and 4 Moldovans out of a total of 17 are as true as the figure with which Putin won the elections. That is to say, it is a complete and gross falsehood. I say this with conviction based on the fact that I know many of the Romanians and one of the best-known Moldovans who fought against Russia, Sergiu Luncaș, a man who is seen as a hero in the Republic of Moldova.
