When I first started working in eyecare 10 years ago and realised this, it lit a fire in me. 🔥🔥🔥
I don’t understand why curable blindness is a thing. Why don’t governments step in and help? Even if you’re thinking purely from a financial standpoint it’s hard to see how they don’t roi on taxes from people being able to work again.

I live my life like I'm being stalked by a sniper. I always stand just to the side of windows and doors in case anyone is lining up the kill shot and often zig-zag a little when walking along the road. I'm a 54 year old Consultant Ophthalmologist.

But this is all pretty paranoid. Unless some spies are using multiple directional antennae, triangulating your position and following in a van, you’re not likely going to be being tracked by anyone - and that assumes the Bluetooth ID is unique.

So I guess: if a foreign government really wants to track you, they can. If so, remove the battery. Otherwise, don’t worry about it. You’re just helping the organisers plan next year’s meeting better - if they collect and use the data correctly.
