Of course @lamw took an Intel NUC on stage and asked if he could install ESX8 on it! If you want to see a demo of ESX8 running on a NUC deployed at the edge and fully automated through desired state configuration then attend my session tomorrow 4:30-5:30
There we go! 3D acceleration on NixOS aarch64 in VMware Fusion 22H2. Mesa was missing the "svga" driver. Details in the linked commit. Literal 10x performance increase on glxgears. Thanks so much to

Crude early benchmarks is that VMware Fusion 3D accel (vmwgfx) is about 5x faster than working 3D accel in Parallels (virgl). I'm going to switch back to VMware Fusion now day to day and see how it goes.
