Call me crazy, but I think parents should determine what their teenagers do online rather than the government.
And that governments shouldn't use system-level ID checks to identify and monitor everything.

My feed is full of Elon Musk being a trillionaire people getting upset about other people celebrating that because they’re poor and lazy
Other people getting upset because he focuses on his own projects instead of humanity but what if he believed he was making humanity better?
So everything contradicts everything…. Because we don’t live in Elon‘s head and we don’t know his motives or his perspective.
How about we just focus on our own lives and making it the best life we can have?

1/ The UK tax take is now the highest share of the economy since 1948. In cash it has risen from £828bn in 2019-20 to about £1,231bn today. Even after inflation that is a real increase of roughly a fifth. The question worth asking is … what the country gets back for it?

7/ None of this belongs to one party. The threshold freezes driving much of the tax rise span successive governments. The productivity slide began before the current one. This is a question of competence, judged the only way that counts, by results.

9/ Effectiveness is measured by what gets delivered NOT by intentions. By that test, the trend has been moving the wrong way for years and must be addressed before we dig a deeper hole.
