Tem um Ninja Gaiden pra Mega Drive que, assim como o Shadow Warriors (o primeiro Ninja Gaiden), é um beat 'em up de rolagem lateral, não um jogo de plataforma como os desafiadores Ninja Gaiden de NES. Parece que esta versão era pra ter saído em 1992, porém nunca foi lançada oficialmente. Talvez isto explique, ou seja consequência do fato do brawler ser bem fraco (embora não seja injogável).
