To all the international visitors who came to the JRRF2026 "ぷるさと村" booth, and to everyone who became interested in our activities through X and other platforms, our "ぷるさと村" member
@3DInPhil explained our group name in English!
They’re called purusato-mura
This is a little more twisted to explain, I hope I can get it right.
ふるさと(furusato) = Hometown
ぷるさ (purusa)=Prusa
(The diff is the small circle in the first character <which makes the f sound to a P sound ) and the ending character “と/to”)
They combined the 2 and added mura ( village )
And you get
Purusato-mura
ぷるさと村
So a community where prusa is the hometown
There’s a second view I just noticed and I’m not sure if it’s correct but it could also be seen as prusa and village (community) but I think it’s a coincidence.
