Second graders making meaning of picture problems. I loved connecting the hands on, to visuals, to equations. Great conversations around misconceptions too. Evidence of brains growing!
Last 2 weeks I’ve been working with our IA’s on the four rights of a learner. They became experts on one, processed their own way and taught others. So proud of their work! #mathconnectsus
This is so much bigger than a commercial. It takes the @USWNT well beyond the moment. This message is creating a movement. Well done @Nike congratulations @USWNT!!
So much fun having Mayor Callaway visit today sharing with 5th graders. He explained how he got to where he is, the education it took & how they can make a difference. Thanks for inspiring! @SteveCallaway2
Started our state math testing today. I tried to make every student feel successful. An example of one of the 25 notes of encouragement I left. The pencils and erasers are from Amazon and I love them!
Had my students who were already proficient using the standard algorithm present a different strategy. They did the Lattice Method, it was so cute, notecards and all. #mathconnectsus
Ss making connections to each other’s work and finding similarities and differences. The conversation was rich and translated to their work samples they had to do as an assessment, yeah. Great Friday!#mathconnectsus
Fun math class today. I showed Hidden Figures in honor of Black History Month, with the connection to math. Only 1 of my students had seen the movie. They loved it and we had such rich conversations, I highly suggest showing it! #mathconnectsus
