This week our K-2 Math Project group had the opportunity to visit P.S./I.S. 217 to observe Number Talks, Fluency Centers and a Math Journal lesson in action. These visits are always inspiring for our Project teachers. HUGE thanks to our host teachers!

Problem solving is challenging so we try to add in some fun! @k5mtr the Math Centers provide word problems that you can cut apart. Ss pick a problem and use blank paper to work out a solution. This looks & feels different than a worksheet! #choice #Perseverance #grade3 @Aldendux

Using the information gained in a meaningful way is crucial. Differentiated counting, numeration and addition/subtraction centers 3x a week for 20 mins. in K-2 can be a game changer if used consistently. #ECAM #fluencycenters
