The MathRack Clock can be used in multiple grades for duration of time, elapsed time, multiplication, money, fractions and much more! Its design is a unique use of the MathRack's red and white 'beads' representing the duration of minutes and showing fiveness!

Just as number sense develops when children are clear that something is being counted, the ability to make sense of number operations depends on the foundational understanding that EVERY OPERATION TELLS A STORY.

This research needs to be prevalent in all we teach… it makes sense…it makes a difference! And all of CFLM units are formatted this way!!! Finally!!
All of our units honor Gravemeijer’s research on how kids develop models as tools for thinking.
1. Models first come out of a situation/context.
2. We model students’ thinking over time in the model.
3. Kids use the model to think with (not just told)
