Thank you @matteringpress (and @STSeasst)! It's strange not to be there at #EASST4S2024 with you all, but I'm happily busy with kids and bikes this week...
Have a fun celebration and a wonderful conference everyone! And thanks again @IrinaPa for representing us at the plenary.
And there's more... So very happy to see @IrinaPa collect the 2024 Freeman Award, for #DemocracticSituations! Those here in Amsterdam at #EASST4S2024 are welcome to join some imprompu celebrations which we will host at our stand, starting after the conclusion of the ceremony
V. proud to be at #EASST4S2024 seeing Michaela Spencer, on of our editors, present her making & doing work - collaboratively w/ Hellen Verran, Michael Christie & Matt Campell - contributing to 40 years of transformations under Yolnu authority in East Arnhem Land, in N. Australia
So exciting to be here at #EASST4S2024, materialised. Our stand is on the 1st floor, in the area above the registration desk. We've loved hanging out, meeting old friends, and making new ones.
Thanks to @hardyjuls for the outstanding cover design. The book is free to read online - appropriate for a book that arguging that democratic politics is co-shaped by its interfaces. Buying a hard copy will help sustain our work, though (and it will look lovely on your shelves)
Many of us will be in Amsterdam in July - we look forward to joining the celebrations. Do get in touch if you have interesting, creative projects in mind that push at the boundaries of STS and/or the form of the scholarly book. Cheers to all.. and to the potential of #OpenAccces

Is this an economic transaction? Cake exchanged for better care? Or is it more than that?
She uses the object of the chocolate cake to query the social scientistās impulse to explain why people do what they do.
She shows us how this impulse may rest upon rational calculation, uncomfortably treating sociality as a commodity.
Do you ever wonder whether writing is an adequate response to a world in crisis? Or whether academic writing usefully address catastrophe?
Us too!
We're running a workshop exploring this at the upcoming #easst4s2024 conference - join us!

For the workshop we invite wild, inflamed writing, where contributors put into words something that is impossible to say through traditional academic formats. There are no constraints on topic or form. We encourage incomplete pieces.
To submit an abstract, simply articulate two things: why the writing is necessary and why it must be written now.
Login to the conference website and look for workshop P338 - Writing at the end of the world: why write in a time of crisis?
