Certifications & New Designs in SMRs
In 2023-25, SMR designs advanced rapidly. NuScale's VOYGR (77 MW/module) got US NRC certification, enabling scalable deployment. GE Hitachi's BWRX-300 planned for Canada start in 2025. Kairos Power's Hermes got construction license in 2024, first Gen IV non-lightwater reactor permitted in US. Rolls-Royce SMR scaled to 470 MW. Over 80 designs now, incl. molten salt & HALEU fuel innovations.

Global push: India approved 3 SMR types (200 MW Bharat, 55 MWe, 5 MWth HTGR) in 2025. Belgium-France signed nuclear coop for SMRs 2025. Russia deploys RITM SMRs for Arctic mining, floating plants by decade end. Africa: Rwanda & South Africa financing SMR projects. Canada: BWRX-300 turbine deal; Indiana pushes SMRs. COP28 pledged triple nuclear capacity, SMRs key.

Applications & Future Outlook
SMRs for AI/data centers: Google with Kairos (500 MW), Amazon/X-energy (5 GW) deals. Resilient features like black start, islanding, underground build. Hybrid solar-nuclear (Holtec CNSP 2024). HALEU fuel expansions in US/UK. By 2050, SMRs could be 25% of new nuclear; watch for UK's 2025 investments.

The new slack plugin for @cursor_ai is pretty awesome. Run background agents from slack based on a conversation you just had with your coworkers about a feature.
Just tell cursor to go build it and it goes out, pulls down your code repo, updates and tests it and then pushes it into a new git branch and alerts you that it’s finished.
Haven’t used it enough yet to say how well it works but that’s what tomorrow holds. Curious how many things I can do in parallel.
