Lesotho place names are of "Bushman" origin.
Quthing means place of wind in likely the San/Phuthi/Mfene dialect.
In the Bushman dictionary you find !khweten (Qhweten) which is the closest cognate.

But my zooming skills tell me that whoever is fuelling South Africa’s hatred of fellow black Africans has them exactly where they need them.
Divide them.
Isolate them.
Turn neighbours into enemies.
Convince them they’re standing alone.
That’s how every successful conquest begins.
South Africa, you’re being sold “nationalism” while being quietly ushered towards a sophisticated form of recolonisation.
