1 year ago today Yelwata, Nigeria, hundreds of Christians were massacred. Their homes and shops razed to the ground. Another average night turned into bloodshed, as has been the story for 2 decades in Nigeria. Across Nigeria, innocent people have continued to be slaughtered while the government and forces look on. For decades, mothers have lost their children, fathers have been butchered , children burned to charcoal. Yelwata is the testimony to the reality of what has happened and is currently happening across relatively every state in Nigeria. The world, especially Christians, should refuse to standby and look on and evil is carried out.

A 14-year-old Jewish girl went missing in Toronto. Her missing person posters went up. People tore them down. No connection to Gaza. No connection to any conflict. They tore down hostage posters for the same reason. Not because they were Israeli. Because they were Jewish.

The Nigerian military is taking credit for “rescuing” some 400 hostages released by Boko Haram in Ngoshe. That is a lie, of course. Here is the word from eyewitnesses on the ground. Soldiers delivered ransom to Boko Haram, said to be somewhere between 3 and 5 billion naira. Only Muslim hostages were released. The Christian women and children remain in captivity. They were being held in a village named Gavva at the shadow of Mandara Mountain, three kilometers away from the military base in Ngoshe. That is not a rescue. That is complicity, and a wealth transfer to their terrorist comrades. It is also proof and a continuation of the ongoing Christian genocide. This is video of the Muslim women and children being returned. #EarthShaker

Isn’t it funny that right at the time when jihad terrorists began to use violence, kidnappings, and terror to reportedly demand Sharia, the “moderate” ones immediately emerged to follow it up with a polite, diplomatic PR campaign for the exact same demand?.
Putting the Question of Sharīʿah in Yorùbá Land in Proper Perspective Much of the controversy surrounding Sharīʿah in Yorùbá land is driven more by fear, misinformation and politics than by a proper understanding of what is actually being requested by Muslims. The first point that must be clearly stated is that a full-fledged Sharīʿah legal system, in the sense of a comprehensive state-wide Islamic legal order governing criminal, civil and public affairs, is neither practical nor presently attainable in the multicultural and multi-religious context of Yorùbá land. The demographic realities, constitutional framework and religious diversity of the Southwest make such a project unrealistic. Indeed, the overwhelming majority of Muslims advocating for Sharīʿah are not calling for the establishment of an Islamic state, nor are they demanding the replacement of existing constitutional structures with a comprehensive Islamic legal system. What many Muslims have consistently requested is something far more limited, reasonable and constitutionally defensible: the opportunity to voluntarily access Islamic legal provisions in matters that directly concern their religious obligations and personal lives. These include areas such as: - Marriage and divorce. - Inheritance and estate administration. - Family disputes. - Endowments (waqf). - Contracts and certain aspects of personal transactions. - Religious mediation and arbitration. These are matters in which Muslims already believe they are religiously bound by Islamic teachings. The demand is therefore not for the imposition of Sharīʿah upon non-Muslims but for the accommodation of Muslims who voluntarily wish to regulate aspects of their personal affairs according to their faith. This is neither unusual nor unprecedented. Across the world, plural societies provide mechanisms through which religious communities can resolve personal and family matters according to their traditions, provided such arrangements operate within the framework of the law and with the consent of the parties involved. Viewed from this perspective, Sharīʿah Panels are not instruments of domination but mechanisms of religious accommodation. They are comparable to mediation and arbitration systems through which citizens voluntarily seek guidance and dispute resolution based on shared values and beliefs. The intense opposition to even these limited arrangements raises important questions. If Christians may organise their affairs according to Christian principles, and if practitioners of traditional religion may organise aspects of their communal and religious lives according to their convictions, on what basis should Muslims be denied the opportunity to seek guidance on inheritance, marriage, divorce and related matters from institutions grounded in Islamic law? To oppose a full Islamic legal state is one thing. To oppose Muslims having access to voluntary Sharīʿah-based mediation and personal law mechanisms is something entirely different. The latter begins to resemble a systematic denial of the legitimate religious rights of Muslims. Equally troubling is the recurring attempt to portray every discussion about Sharīʿah as a "Fulani agenda" or an externally inspired project. Such claims are historically inaccurate, intellectually weak and socially divisive. Islam did not arrive in Yorùbá land through Fulani people. Yorùbá Muslims are not recent converts. They are indigenous sons and daughters of the soil whose ancestors have practised Islam for centuries. The desire of a Yorùbá Muslim to distribute his estate according to Islamic inheritance law, contract his marriage according to Islamic principles or resolve family disputes according to Islamic teachings has nothing to do with Fulani nationalism, Fulani expansionism or any external ethnic agenda. It is simply the desire of a believer to practise his religion. 1/2

Even Arab leaders admit it. Everyone is sharing the Bill Clinton clip where he describes how Yasser Arafat rejected a generous peace offer at Camp David that would have given the Palestinians a state on 96 percent of the West Bank, land swaps, and a capital in East Jerusalem. Clinton says Arafat lied to him and that the Palestinian leadership never actually wanted a two-state solution. They wanted to destroy Israel. It’s a video often shared by people like @VividProwess, and it’s an important one for people to see. Of course, critics immediately dismiss it. They claim Clinton is biased or he’s pro-Israel. They’ll tell you that you cannot trust the American perspective. Ok, so let us set that aside. Now watch this. In this powerful interview, former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a major Arab leader who was directly involved in negotiations, says exactly the same thing from the Arab side. He talks about the Mena House Conference in Cairo as well as the Camp David negotiations of 1978. All failed because of the Palestinians repeatedly rejecting any offer. The Oslo accords were signed but because Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad were not involved, they derailed the accords and any chance for peace by initiating 4 years of terrorist suicide attacks in Israel. Then came the second Camp David negotiations in 2000 which Arafat agreed to, then rejected and instead initiated the Second Intifada. Mubarak explains how the Palestinians refused to even participate in the Mena House conference of 1977. He describes repeated opportunities they were given, including a detailed document that called for Israeli withdrawal from the Samaria, Judea and Gaza, security arrangements during a transitional period, and other major concessions. The Israelis were willing to negotiate on difficult issues like who would control security. The Palestinians, according to Mubarak, kept saying no and wasting chance after chance. He speaks with clear frustration about how for decades the Palestinian side has rejected peace initiatives and realistic compromises. The video further shows footage from the PLO representative in 1977, as well as old footage of Egyptian president Sadat who was involved in the Mena House and first Camp David negotiations of 1978. This perhaps is far more impactful than Clinton’s account because it is not a Western or Israeli voice. It is prominent Arab leaders who lived the negotiations, who represented the broader Arab world, and who had zero incentive to defend Israel. When leaders from both sides of the table describe the same pattern of Palestinian rejectionism and violence, it becomes much harder to dismiss as bias. The pattern is clear across decades and across different voices… generous offers, repeated refusals, and continued demands for everything while giving nothing in return. This is not ancient history. It is the core reason the conflict continues today. If you value the truth, please share.
