It's been exactly 12 months and 8 days since I graduated college. I started freelancing and copywriting my freshman year in 2022. After losing some money in crypto and trying to make that work, I naturally stumbled across email marketing after landing a few clients on Upwork for copywriting. And I became completely obsessed. I would wake up at 5am, walk to the library, and work until classes started… I worked in class. Took calls between classes in study rooms. Finish class and head straight back to the library until it was dark… Despite working 12 hours a day I still went to classes, partied every weekend, and messed around with my friends on campus… Literally did that all the way until I graduated at the time with a multi-million dollar agency and 50 employees. Never dropped out, and lived the full college experience. I guarantee when I look back in 10 or 15 years, some of my best memories are going to be from those four years at college. Now here I am a year later and business has over doubled. I'm way more productive and I've been able to do much bigger things. I've traveled and stayed in 44 different Airbnbs across a ton of different places. Super happy and way less stressed. Could I have done all of this faster without finishing school? Probably. I know money twitter loves the dropout story lol. But I wouldn't take going to college back for the world. I'm glad I stuck through it even despite the massive jumps in business growth I've had since then. If you're on the fence about dropping out or staying in, just stay in and enjoy it. Don't listen to what people say online. If it's an experience you like, it's worth finishing. Congrats to everyone graduating this year.

WORST WAYS TO USE AI IN ECOM - Blind data analysis (it will make numbers up) - Full emails and full ads (needs touching up) - Strategy and content calendars (needs the human touch) BEST WAYS TO USE AI IN ECOM - Product images and renders (no need for crazy studios) - Static ads at scale (simple and high volume production) - Copy at scale (great for speed and efficiency) Use AI where it scales output. Keep humans where it requires judgment.

Adding another reason to the list of why Alia pop-ups is S tier for anyone running popups… Didn't even know this was a thing until one of our Account Managers showed me. You can literally ask Alia to pull FULL reports on everything they've tested since you started using them. What offers ran, what won, and how it all compares to what you had before. One of our Senior AMs did this for a client whose Alia trial was ending and just dropped the whole report in front of them. Clearly… Alia pop-ups pay for themself. Making your team clock in is so pointless. Instead, every team member at my agency sends an email they think we can steal into a Slack channel first thing in the morning. I started doing this early on and immediately saw a massive impact in the quality of emails and ideas being used across our client accounts. Before they check Slack or through notifications… The first thing they do is study what other brands are sending and get in the right headspace before they touch a single client account. It gets everyone thinking about email the second they open their laptop… My big philosophy is that you should never reinvent the wheel. Just find what works, get inspo from others, and apply it to your own brands. This makes that a daily habit instead of something you do when you feel like it… And over time it builds a massive bank of inspiration that anyone on the team can go back to whenever they're stuck on ideation. Hundreds of emails from brands all in one place. If you run any kind of creative team, try this for a month and see what happens.

Add this to every abandonment flow… The Buyer / Non-Buyer Split It makes no sense to run the same flow for everyone. A first-time visitor and a 5-time buyer shouldn't get the same emails. Instead, a conditional split at the top based on if a person has purchased before. - Non-buyers: Will get discount in the hero of every email. Layer in testimonials and objection handlers. - Past buyers: Will get no discount until Email 3 or 4. But frame every email around why customers are coming back. Much more relevant for each customer and a better way to convert both audiences.
