In the NetEng industry we've struggled with gender balance, and one of the things women we spoke to identified was "boy's club," the inappropriateness of sexual humour at professional conferences. Some even identified as InfoSec doing better. But I guess we are all still learning

Amazing how much of the tech press coverage in Manchester has changed its tune from "can't publish positive PR-based stories fast enough" to "yeah, it was a cult-like toxic empire." Philanthropy Ultra Non-Bio: for billionaires to launder their image to the whitest of whites!

Hey @MENnewsdesk, it's a bit shitty having the lead image on your Lawrence Jones coverage be a PR image of him as businessman in a suit. It's quite clear he's not a respectable individual, so why portray him as one. manchestereveningnews.co.uk/…

Hey @gmpolice why are your officers collar numbers 18298 and 05380, currently at Royal Oldham Hospital, allowed to openly wear Thin Blue Line badges?

Can't remember which of @gmpolice's finest, while keeping a woman who was distressed by presence of two male officers under arrest ("no WPCs available"?), made disparaging remarks like "playing musical chairs with you has been six fucking hours of my life..."

I get that policing is tough, and sitting in A&E for eight hours is boring, but a little professionalism in attitude and following dress code gmp.police.uk/SysSiteAssets/… please?

I feel that RD has lost his way, and is trading upon his status as academic celebrity rather than engaging with the century long academic debate. I'm going to cover just the first paragraph of his argument, "Sex is not the same as gender…" to illustrate.
This will undoubtedly upset people, but as ever Dawkins excels at using words carefully to express his thoughts. For me, though, it misses the most significant point: If we did not treat and judge people differently depending on their gender none of these problems would exist.

tl;dr: though he may weave words to sound cogent in the subsequent argument, honestly I struggled to to get past the over-simplifications and errors of the opening, ironic that the scientific communicator stumbled in the first paragraph because of over-simplified language
