My heart is breaking for Carmen’s husband and inseparable partner, Chris, and their whole family. She was a fabulous artist, great colleague, and a wonderful, warm, generous, and supportive human being. So very sad.
The Vancouver Opera family is saddened by the news of the sudden passing of Carmen Garcia. Carmen was Vancouver Opera’s long-standing Head of Make-Up since 1986 and had worked for VO in the make-up department since 1978. Read More: vancouveropera.ca/2020/12/16…

Such a pleasure to work with this remarkable man, a giant of the art form. Loved every minute of developing and directing this production. “His masterpiece” is right!
"I think I would be far too cranky." Writer-composer Carlisle Floyd gets real about the challenges of working with librettists — outside of himself, of course — ahead of our weekend streaming event, his masterpiece "Susannah." Hear his work this weekend: sfopera.com/opera-is-on/stre…

Moments of exuberance as we close out an extraordinary run of Figaro @SFOpera. I am so sad to say goodbye. It has been so heartfelt, so funny, so Mozart! Thank you to this amazing company for creating such beauty. Tune in next fall for Season 2 of the House of Mozart and Da Ponte
