We had a great day collaborating with local leaders of maths education from across the north west on the @NCETM PD lead programme; what a superb group, all deeply reflective and committed to developing their skills and knowledge as PD leads.

One of the biggest barriers for students who struggle to gain a grade 4 at GCSE is the ability to think multiplicatively, sticking with addition. 👇There is a Work Group to support our teaching of multiplicative reasoning. It is free and comes with some excellent resources. ✨
Places still available on @yrmathshub's Developing Fluency with Multiplicative Reasoning at KS3 programme - free to participating schools. yorkshireridingsmathshub.co.… #CPD #freeCPD #mathsCPD #ThePowerOfMaths #MathsTeacher #SecondaryMaths #MathsPedagogy #MathsHubs @NCETM

Incredibly sad that the Thatch at Dayspring burned down this afternoon. Fortunately no one was hurt but the loss significant for the school and the church, as this was their meeting place, school hall and community hub. Today v April with the boys 🥹

Teaching Y1 was always my ‘home.’ It was an honour to see confident mathematicians at work in Y1 Christ the King for @abacusnw Blackpool TRGs. The variation and choice of representations led to deep understanding of the structure of two digit numbers. 🎉
