Communication - A Big Issue For BTC platforms BTC Tokens, platforms and protocols already have a harder time than other chains. The user base and liquidity are both lesser. One would expect other areas to compensate, but when it comes to Transparency and Communication, this is not the case. Odin Fun Yesterday, @BobBodily 's and 10 users' Odin accounts were compromised and as a result, holdings were sold and BTC was withdrawn from the platform. Happily, Bob and the team identified the issue and halted withdrawals/trading so damage was limited. Bob also released an update on the situation. However, he didn't yet (fully) address concerns such as: • how much BTC was maliciously withdrawn • how the hack occured exactly and why it won't happen again • what happens with the sold tokens (buybacks?) Funky Bit @funkybit_fun went live 3 days ago, with the first 2 tokens reaching a 1.6m and 800k Market Caps. Yesterday, founder @andrew_funkybit deployed a questionable token, which caught attention and most of the liquidity, sending all the other tokens spiralling down. With users speculating on a potential hack, rug, farm, vampire attack and whatnot, their team didn't publicly address any of these concerns. Given the recency of Funky, plenty holders posed questions regarding the UI and matters such as the lack of activity on tokens or users' profiles, filtering by age and future developments. At launch, buying with BTC became unavailable for longer periods of time. No announcements or updates were made clarifying these issues. Alkanes The Alkanes protocol went live and its first mintable token, Methane, amassed impressive interest, minting out and reaching a 10M Market Cap, placing initial minters at a 50x profit. A big part of the mint was executed with the @mintalkanes site and its currently tradeable on @idclub_ord , which saw 265k volume today. These 2 Alkanes apps proved essential to Methane's success. However, coverage about these 2 apps on the @oylwallet / @taggaOyl accounts were minimal. The team also announced an AMM for Alkanes trading, but there is no new information regarding its launch. Why is This an Issue? Most of the events listed above are all interesting, sought after information (in my opinion). Each protocol's/platform's user base is keen on knowing such aspects that may impact their holdings, or even encourage them to buy more/become an investor. But with the lack of communication and transparency, users resort to debating and speculating endless scenarios, often spreading misinformation that ends up hurting the overall image. Unlike other chains, where there is way more publicly verifiable data, BTC platforms' audiences rely more on the respective teams to provide the necessary updates. So, if you happen to be building a platform and reading this Ltweet, please provide as much transparency and communicate as much as you can with us users🫡
