In line with the vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” through strengthened cooperative infrastructure and the development of a decentralized grain storage ecosystem, Dr.
@ASHISHBHUTANI14, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a meeting on the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in the Cooperative Sector on 10 June 2026 at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi, with senior officers of key stakeholder Ministries/Department, Agencies from across the cooperative ecosystem.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the initiative and underscored the need for coordinated efforts to expedite the establishment of modern, technology-driven and efficient grain storage facilities under the cooperative model. The Storage Plan aims to strengthen food security, reduce post-harvest losses, improve farmers’ access to storage infrastructure, enhance value realization, and foster an integrated agricultural ecosystem in rural areas.
Deliberations focused on accelerating the implementation of the Storage Plan through effective convergence among stakeholders and leveraging the cooperative framework to create sustainable, farmer-centric infrastructure across the country.
