A look around my root crops as they are now. Cold nights seem to have slowed down growth a little but are now moving. Good growth follow when temps are even between night and day. The worst variation was 5 at night and 39.2C during the day!! with the roof and door fully open.

51 Toughball onions have been harvested with a further 3 to be lifted in a day or two as they get to size to weigh in under 250grm. None are under 235g with a few close to 250. I could make numerous sets of 5 with different shaped shoulders and bases. Time will now tell!!

Lifted half of my Toughball onions over the past week or so. There are still some good ones for lifting in the next few days. This can be usually between 10 and 10.5 inches around. This depends how flat or globular the bulbs are so they all weigh close to the benchmark of 250grm

Some pictures from the Chelsea Flower Show. Blackmore and Langdon always have a fantastic show of Delhiniums and Begonias. Burncoos from Cornwall have staged what I consider to be one of their best ever.

Harvested my first Toughball onion today from the 60 I have growing in nothing more than a 6 inch deep Link-a-Bord. They have grown really well and I should be able to match up a few sets!
