When sleeping, babies shouldnβt lie on or have anything soft around them, particularly their heads, as this can cause them to overheat and increases the risk of SIDS. Soft, squishy materials can also cover babyβs mouth and nose if they are pressed against it.

Itβs important to keep babies hydrated in warmer weather. If formula fed, babies under six months can be given cooled boiled water or for babies over six months just water from the tap. Fully breastfed babies donβt need any extra water until they start eating solid food.
