Whatever Starmer has to say on Venezuela is irrelevant. No one cares. When Reagan invaded Grenada he told Mrs Thatcher beforehand - Starmer neither knew nor had a role in US decision making despite being the 'closest ally'. This diminution in global affairs is Starmer's legacy

Thatcher was ‘blindsided’ by the invasion. Parliament was told no invasion would occur. Her concerns she cabled were ignored by Reagan’s administration. 🚨 Important context here: not only did Russia try to goad Trump into moving on Venezuela in 2019 to force US disengagement in Ukraine, Russia also drove the idea of the “US buying Greenland” by forging a letter to US Senator Tom Cotton, who brought the idea to Trump.

That "one more dog sled" Denmark added in 2025 is in fact $4.2bn spent on buying an additional 16 F35s, two new Arctic ships, several maritime patrol planes, an additional early warning radar and a plethora of drone systems. That's remarkable for a nation of 6 million people.
