We all have stories to tell, here's mine (or at least a part of it) and I'm going to put shyness aside to retweet, and say, if anyone reading this would like a copy I will send one to the first person to DM me. And thank you, John, for such a compliment XX

We are excited to share that we will be featured in a BBC Lifeline Appeal this April. This incredible opportunity will raise much-needed awareness and funds for our work in the Huntington's disease community. hda.org.uk/news/bbc-lifeline…

God help America. How is this possible? The thought of hearing that voice all over the news again is utterly repellent, but I keep thinking of Fiona Hill's wonderful book "There is Nothing For You Here" & her analysis of why so many people believe in him as a leader.

Watched “The Sound of Metal” last night and it has made me really excited to learn BSL. Has anyone here got advice on where to start?

Still thinking about the talk I went to last night, by an Israeli woman who set up a Peace camp in Palestine some years ago and has friends & family in both places. We learned a lot and despite the missile strikes in Yemen, actually left with a sense of hope.

Our neighbour works at a bakery & gives us lots of bread. Simon can't eat it all but can't say no so the freezer is full of bread. Today I've done a surreptitious cull and taken 6 loaves to the food bank (also allowing room for my #veganuary goodies!) Wondering if he'll notice.

That it affects whole families in ways it can be hard to explain. That someone with Huntington's is still very much a person, even if their body / mind isn't working so well. That it's the most horrible illness but please don't look away. That life is still worth living.
We're asking for your thoughts on a very important question. 🔍 What do you wish people knew about Huntington's disease?

Watched Saltburn last night with son & heir, and I thought what a lucky escape I’d had, mixing with similar toffs back in the day & invited to stay at their country hices. I was always more of a Paul Pennyfeather / Nick Carraway though, happy to return to an ordinary life.

First trip of 2024 to @showroomcinema later to see the Kindertransport film, mainly in honour of my dear departed friend and cinema companion Annie; legend was that she'd had a youthful fling with Sir Anthony H, so I'll be thinking of her.

Wow, the skies are beautiful this morning. After days of driech, it is so good to see a bit of rosy light. #reasonstobecheerful

Such a powerful spokeswoman.
Proud of my friend @WillowKaty for her TV appearance earlier today. Along with her @WeAreCarers team, they give unpaid carers their voice and argue for key change. Katy is a Carer herself, she knows what people need, and government needs to step up to their key challenges.

So excited to see this @showroomcinema next week - the Scala was my playground, saw so many films there in that extraordinary setting and yes, went to some of those parties... youtube.com/watch?v=jovQuVxS…

We've got our bi-annual @MagicLanternS7 film quiz this eve. I know the other two will have come up with clever & dastardly questions, whereas mine are mainly in the "not really trying" category. E.g: A film that references Christmas but isn't a Christmas film?

They gave good answers: Morvern Callar, Meet Me in St Louis, Gremlins…

Could this happen, even with a change of government? Just imagine how different things would look.
2024 must be the year that social care is fixed. Politicians must break the habit of a lifetime snd see social care as skilled work & make investment a high priority. Social care delivers social inclusion to the most marginalised. It’s time for recognition, investment and reform.
